Event:Gŵyl y Mari Lwyd
All are welcome to celebrate the magic of Midwinter with one of Wales’ most intriguing and wonderful traditions, the Mari Lwyd.
Join us for a day of creative workshops, artist and maker stalls and festive fun, leading up to a performance and parade led by the Mari Lwyd herself!
The Mari Lwyd is a unique Welsh tradition in which a beautifully decorated horse’s skull is brought to life with music, mischief and plenty of merriment.
This creative winter event explores the stories, customs and folklore surrounding the Mari Lwyd, with opportunities to get creative and discover something new.
A celebration of the turning of the year, rooted in Welsh tradition and the magic of the deep winter.
