JobaKnock Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to the sale of JobaKnock tickets only.

By buying a Ticket you agree to be bound by these terms.

The JobaKnock ticket allows visitors to join the queue for the Underground Tours at an allotted period of time. The Underground Tours themselves are free for all visitors and the purchase of JobaKnock tickets is not compulsory.

How to Purchase Tickets

Tickets can be purchased at the Reception Desk on arrival at Big Pit.

Groups of 10 or more can purchase tickets in advance by contacting Big Pit on 0300 111 2 333.

Only tickets purchased directly from us are valid. Tickets purchased from unauthorised third parties, including online auction sites, are not valid.

Tickets are collected on arrival at Big Pit. On purchasing your advance group JobaKnock tickets you will be sent written confirmation by email. If you require confirmation by post please inform us at the time of purchase.

Bring your written confirmation with you when you visit plus one other form of identification.

We take no responsibility should you fail to bring your written confirmation or not receive the confirmation due to the failing of your internet provider, email delivery service, the Post Office or any other third party delivery service.

Ticket Arrival Time

Your ticket will give you a Ticket Arrival Time to the JobaKnock waiting area. You must arrive during the 15 minute period stated on your ticket. We recommend that you arrive at the beginning of your Ticket Arrival Time although you will not be allowed access to the Underground Tour before that Ticket Arrival Time.

Late arrivals cannot be accommodated. If you arrive after the end of your Ticket Arrival Time you will not be given a refund.

Big Pit will only refund tickets in the event of a delay that results in temporary closure of the Underground for technical reasons.

If a Ticket Arrival Time is missed it may be possible to allocate a later time slot on the same day but this is subject to availability. On busy days this may not be possible. Visitors will be advised at the Big Pit Reception Area.

Tickets are not for resale and are non-transferable.

We reserve the right to amend a Ticket Arrival Time once it has been issued to you but we will endeavor to notify you as soon as we become aware that this is necessary.

All tickets for visits from 1 April 2020 cost £5 per person.

Group bookings must be paid in advance.

Group bookings must be made at least 24 hours before the time of visit.

We reserve the right to amend a booking once it has been confirmed but we will endeavour to notify you as soon as we become aware that this is necessary.

Tickets – General Terms

One JobaKnock Ticket entitles one person entry to the Big Pit Underground Tour on a single occasion. Once you have exited the Underground Tour, you will need to purchase a new JobaKnock Ticket to re-enter the Underground Tour through the JobaKnock queue.

Tickets remain our property at all times. We reserve the right to require the immediate return of the tickets at any time and to refuse entry to, or eject from the Underground Tour, any person who fails to comply with the terms and regulations of Big Pit.

JobaKnock tickets are non-refundable, non-transferable and void if altered. Tickets that we reasonably suspect have been transferred or altered will not be honoured. Tickets are not for resale. Any such resale shall have the effect of rendering that Ticket void.

From time to time, we may decide at our absolute discretion to issue tickets under special promotions (“Promotional JobaKnock Tickets”) but Promotional JobaKnock Tickets will be available subject to availability and subject to any terms and conditions affecting the particular promotion.

Ticket Cancellation

Should you wish to cancel a JobaKnock ticket, you must notify us immediately. We are under no obligation to issue refunds where a JobaKnock Ticket has been cancelled by you.

We reserve the right to cancel a JobaKnock ticket and will endeavour to notify you as soon as we become aware that this is necessary. In such circumstances a full refund will be issued.

Children (under 16 years of age) must be accompanied by a person aged 16 years or over whilst in Big Pit. Such children shall remain under the control and supervision of a person aged 16 or over at all times.

Your Conduct

Whilst you and other visitors are at Big Pit, you must comply with all directions of our staff, relevant health and safety notices, policies and announcements made available to you.

Any breach of any of these terms or any unacceptable behaviour by you or your guests that is likely to cause damage, nuisance, injury to any other visitor or member of our staff or to Big Pit itself shall give rise to the right of Big Pit staff to eject you immediately from Big Pit.

We shall have the right to refuse admission or to eject any visitor from Big Pit if we deem, granting you admission might be a risk to our property, the safety of others and/or affect the enjoyment of Big Pit by others.

You are expressly prohibited from copying, reproducing or republishing any part of the exhibitions or interpretation at Big Pit. It is a criminal offence to copy or attempt to copy the copyright protected materials on show within Big Pit.

In the interests of safety, you may be asked to submit to a search of your person or belongings. Anyone refusing to submit or found to be in possession of materials which we believe to be dangerous or unsuitable, will be denied entry or removed from Big Pit.

Car parking is available at Big Pit at the cost of £3 per car. We accept no responsibility for the loss, theft, or damage to any vehicle (or its contents) while parked within our property.

Parking on the roads around Big Pit outside of the designated car parking area is prohibited.

We have the right to revise and amend these terms from time to time by notifying you or placing updated terms on the website. You will be subject to the terms in force at the time that you bought JobaKnock tickets. You may wish to print a copy of these terms with a date-stamp for future reference.

A person who is not a party to the terms shall not have any rights under or in connection with them under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
