Event:Storytime with Mother Christmas

Big Pit National Coal Museum

Mother Christmas and the Elves will be visiting Big Pit this year.

A warm welcome awaits children for Storytime with Mother Christmas in her cosy cottage.

Each child will receive a gift plus an opportunity for parents/guardians to take photographs.

Important Information:

The event and its activities are intended for children aged 2-8 years. Children must be accompanied by an adult, at all times

A ticket is required for each participating child aged 2+. Due to the limitations of space, we are only able to allocate space for a maximum of one non-participating person to accompany each participating child aged 2+. Non-participating people include under 2s, babies in arms, carers, adults and seniors.

Non-participating people do not need to purchase a ticket for themselves however they will not receive a gift from Mother Christmas.

When booking a Welsh Language Session, please note that Mother Christmas and our Elves will be Welsh speakers. However, not all staff you meet during your visit will be able to speak Welsh. We truly appreciate your understanding.

Please note: if you also visit Santa Underground (which is suitable only for children over 1 metre tall), the gift received will be different.  The gift from Mother Christmas will be a storybook.

All pushchairs must be left outside.

Weather-appropriate clothing should be worn.

Ticketholders should arrive promptly and no more than 15 minutes before their allocated start time. Please allow up to 15 minutes to walk from the Museum car park/main building.

Our public programme is generously supported by players of Postcode Lottery.
