Join us this August for our Romans in Residence days and meet a Roman character from the past – such as a soldier, doctor, officer’s wife or gladiator.
Each day offers one Roman character or themed activity, depending on weather and availability.
You might:
- Chat with a Roman legionary about his equipment
- Make a floral crown in honour of the goddess Flora
- Be sent on a mission by a Roman scout
- Meet a Roman doctor and explore their work
- Hear about feasting from a wealthy Roman.
Fancy using your Welsh while exploring Roman history? Learners, families and first-language speakers are all welcome to chat, ask questions and uncover the stories of Roman Caerleon. 10–11 August, 17–19 August (2:00–4:00pm on 19 August), 24–26 August (2:00–4:00pm on 26 August), and 31 August.
